Data Analysis Engineer - Photonics
Full-Time | Hybrid | $160K–$180K + Bonus + Equity + Benefits

We’re seeking a Data Analysis Engineer with a strong foundation in photonics, statistics, and large-scale data analysis to uncover performance drivers, optimize yield, and accelerate product development. In this role, you’ll analyze device-, module-, and system-level datasets to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities—partnering closely with design, test, and fab teams to elevate reliability and manufacturability across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large datasets from photonic devices, modules, and systems to extract performance insights.
  • Develop models, algorithms, and metrics to evaluate device and system behavior, reliability, and yield.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify correlations and sources of variability.
  • Build dashboards, automated pipelines, and visualization tools for monitoring and reporting.
  • Work closely with photonics design, test engineering, and fab process teams to understand design–process interactions.
  • Drive data-informed recommendations into both design and manufacturing workflows.
  • Support yield improvement, performance optimization, and failure analysis through data-driven methodologies.
  • Document findings and present technical insights to cross-functional teams and leadership.

Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in photonics, data analysis, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong background in statistics, signal processing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, R, or similar analysis frameworks.
  • Experience with JMP or equivalent statistical software.
  • Knowledge of photonics or optical communication systems.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional groups including design and fab teams.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation: $160K–$180K + Bonus + Equity + Full Benefits.
  • Growth within a world-class, multidisciplinary photonics and semiconductor engineering team.
