Data Scientist | Car/Allowance + Bonus | York, Manchester or Birmingham | Hybrid
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a fast-paced FTSE 100 company, working with a range of large and complex data sets.
The role will involve designing and building effective data and forecasting models using Spark SQL and Python. This is a great opportunity to work on future projects integrating AI – if this is something you’re interested in please apply below!
Role/Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the effective functioning of the enterprise data infrastructure
• Design and develop data models and data flows
• Use statistical methods to build predictive forecasting models
• Assist with the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, security, master and reference data across multiple solutions
• Translate and refine business requirements into technical specifications including data streams, warehouses, semantic models, dashboards and reports
• Produce and update technical documentation (e.g. data dictionary / catalogues)
Experience/Requirements:
• Experienced with SQL / Spark SQL
• Experience of data modelling and forecasting
• Experience of Python (including pyspark / pandas)
• Knowledge of relational database and data warehouse concepts (dimensions, facts, star schemas)
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and Databricks
• Interest / experience of utilising AI for data analysis
• Desirable experience: Power BI, R programming
