A highly respected engineering organisation is looking for a Senior or Principal FPGA Engineer to join their specialist team working on advanced imaging systems for space applications.
Role Overview:
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of engineers to lead and support FPGA development, verification, and compliance processes for space-related projects. This role focuses on ensuring quality, documentation, and standards are met throughout the FPGA lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead FPGA development and verification aligned with recognised industry standards
• Produce test plans and procedures to meet customer and internal requirements
• Review code and processes for quality and compliance
• Carry out hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables
Ideal Experience:
• Background in FPGA compliance and verification
• Understanding of standards in space, aerospace, or defence (e.g. ECSS)
• Experience with VHDL, simulation tools, testbenches (UVVM), and automated testing
• Familiar with tools like Subversion, Jira/Redmine, and Jama (or similar)
• Knowledge of Python for test scripting is a plus
Rate:
• £60-£80 per hour Inside IR35
• 12 month contract with potential to extend
• Office in Chelmsford
• 4 days in the office and 1 from home
