Optical Transceiver Customer Support Engineer

A global optical communications company is expanding its US team and looking for a Customer Support Engineer to support North American customers using next-generation optical transceivers for datacentre and telecom networks.
This role combines technical troubleshooting, customer engagement and product evaluation, working closely with customers and international R&D teams across high-speed optical connectivity.
The Role

A global optical communications company is expanding its US team and looking for a Customer Support Engineer to support North American customers using next-generation optical transceivers for datacentre and telecom networks.
This role combines technical troubleshooting, customer engagement and product evaluation, working closely with customers and international R&D teams across high-speed optical connectivity.
The Role
- Provide technical support for optical transceivers spanning 100G, 400G, 800G, 1.6T and beyond.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and coordinate with engineering teams to identify and resolve problems.
- Support product evaluations, demonstrations and interoperability testing with switches, routers and servers.
- Work with customers and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Develop technical documentation, application notes and troubleshooting guides.
- Gather customer feedback and support product improvements.
- Occasionally assist with on-site customer support and industry events.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optics or a related field.
- Knowledge of optical communications, transceivers or high-speed networking.
- Experience with Ethernet, I²C/MDIO, PRBS/BERT testing or optical measurement equipment is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer-facing skills.
- Comfortable working independently with international engineering teams.
