Senior Date Engineer | Up to £60K | Fully Remote | Games Studio

Our client is looking for a Senior Date Engineer to develop, build and maintain a best-in-class analytical data platform. Providing both insights and data tools to further the understanding of our players and how they interact with the game.

Key Duties Include:
 
  • Supporting the team and the larger studio, design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain data products.
  • Develop the software and equipment needed to assemble automated pipelines.
  • Create and maintain frameworks for batch-based and near real-time data processing.
  • Continue to boost the effectiveness and affordability of current systems.
  • Take the initiative on initiatives and exercise technical leadership to advance our data products.
  • Encourage the efficient use of modern and innovative technology.
  • Verify that all systems uphold the strictest standards for integrity and security.
  • Examine the code created by analysts, engineers, and data scientists.
 
Essential Requirements:
 
  • Good experience working with python.
  • Good experience with SQL across various dialects.
  • Solid experience in AWS (Lambda, S3, EMR, CloudFormation etc).
  • Having substantial knowledge of big data ecosystems and infrastructure (Snowflake in particular).
  • Experience deploying applications through container orchestration systems (docker/Kubernetes).
  • Mentor and guide the group's junior members.
  • Thorough knowledge of the qualities of a good production system (design patterns, testing, reviews).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data pipelining and ETL techniques
 
Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of current marketing technology stacks.
  • Knowledge of fostering positive relationships within an organisation and inspiring your team to do the same.
