Senior Process Engineer

Senior Process Engineer | $160,000–$190,000 + Equity | Hybrid | San Diego, CA

A rapidly growing technology company developing next-generation optical and electronic technologies is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join its team in San Diego.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll take ownership of developing, optimising and scaling manufacturing processes for advanced optoelectronic products. Working closely with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing partners, you’ll play a key role in taking new technologies from prototype through to scalable production.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop and optimise assembly and manufacturing processes for advanced optoelectronic products
• Lead process development around Flip Chip assembly and Thermo-Compression Bonding (TCB)
• Support the integration of 2.5D and 3D packaging architectures
• Design and run DOE experiments to improve yield, performance and reliability
• Monitor manufacturing process health, including yield and failure analysis
• Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors and contract manufacturers to ensure processes can scale
• Develop SOWs and project plans for new process development activities

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing or process engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Flip Chip packaging and Thermo-Compression Bonding
• Experience with 2.5D/3D packaging technologies
• Strong understanding of DOE, Gage R&R and statistical process analysis
• Experience using tools such as JMP or Minitab
• Knowledge of FMEA and process reliability
• Experience within semiconductors, microelectronics, photonics or optoelectronics
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
