About the Role

We are partnering with an innovative semiconductor technology company seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of high-performance embedded systems. You will work closely with photonic and hardware engineers to bring new optical products (such as transceivers) into the market, from initial prototypes to production-ready systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for Linux-based systems.
• Knowledge of Shell scripting to automate workflows and system tasks.
• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ for microcontrollers and SoCs.
• Work with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and TCP/IP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues, including networking and communication layers.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and debug embedded systems.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices in software development.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ or other low-level programming languages.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP stack.
• Familiarity with traffic generators and network performance testing tools.
• Experience with embedded development tools (microcontrollers, compilers, debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Skills in automation and control systems.
• Background on hardware, telecommunications/optics, or ASIC/FPGAs is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
