Principal Design Engineer | Circa £70,000 | West of England – Hybrid | Permanent
Langham Recruitment is currently working with a multinational engineering services firm that works with clients in the aerospace, automotive, marine, renewable energy, energy infrastructure, and military sectors. Our client is expanding quickly, with engineers and site locations in Europe, India, and South America. Due to this growth and an increased workload, they are looking for a Principal Design engineer to join their team.
As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will use programmes such as CATIA 3Dx and Solidworks and working independently or as part of a project team to meet deadlines and standards for quality. Additionally, you will also be key to the identification and realisation of opportunities outside of our client’s business portfolio as an intrinsic part of their UK growth plan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer seeking to advance their career into a more senior position, or for a current Principal seeking a new challenge with a dynamic organisation!

About you:
- Experience in a similar Senior/Principal role.
- Experience in negotiating the project definitions, such as the project scope, schedule, and cost.
- Experience in a design role within an appropriate engineering field
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for both metallic and plastic components.
- extensive knowledge of CATIAV5 and 3Dx amongst other design platform knowledge.
- Knowledge of aircraft and or automotive structures.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Understanding of design principles within aerospace/automotive.
