Langham Recruitment are supporting a leading optics and photonics organisation in their search for a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to join their team in Torquay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design advanced optical and photonic components and systems.
• Lead and manage team performance to deliver exceptional results.
• Develop and implement product development strategies.
• Collaborate on prototype construction and testing.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders through presentations and reports.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or Physics (PhD preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of fibre-optics and photonics technologies.
• Proficiency with optical design software such as Zemax.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
• Background in satellite communications, industrial sensing, or biomedical imaging is advantageous.
