Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Environment Artist to join a dynamic and innovative team! You will be responsible for creating stunning, immersive environments that captivate players and bring their game world to life.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build the environment art style of the product in close partnership with the Art Director.
- Oversee a group of environment artists, providing guidance and assuring their growth as professionals.
- Provide top-notch environment art while controlling the effort and schedule of the team.
- Be responsible for the caliber of the artwork you generate.
- Project and coordinate projects, and contribute to the hiring strategy used by the art team.
- File and transmit technical requirements and visual guidelines to support the creative direction.
- Create level layouts that are efficient and exciting by working with design.
- Assist with tech art and program design to make sure the tools and pipelines are efficient and able to provide the desired results.
- Teach juniors how to use the game engine of their choice and oversee level optimization, bug distribution, and bug solutions.
Lead Environment Artist Requirements:
- Possessing coaching, mentoring, or leading experience in the environment of art craft.
- Exceptional high-end environment art portfolio (no props).
- Outstanding familiarity with the principles of art and how they apply to digital media.
- Being able to distinguish between realistic and stylised visual aspects.
- Complete knowledge of a contemporary art production chain.
- Knowledge of the technological limitations of games and how to work around them.
- Capable at managing time and keeping tabs on progress, and at ease leading both individual and group review sessions.
- Capacity to switch between line management and asset production.
- Ability to advise and teach younger artists to advance their careers.
- Great interpersonal and teamwork skills.
