Senior Manufacturing Engineer | Boston, MA | $120 - 180k

We are partnering with a company that produces advanced materials with enhanced energy transfer properties using its patented Z-axis Carbon Fiber technology. The company's products address critical performance bottlenecks across thermal, electrical, and structural applications. Its breakthrough Liquid Metal ZRT thermal interface material is engineered to overcome thermal limitations facing the next generation of AI and HPC silicon.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at a pivotal stage as we rapidly scale our liquid metal thermal interface material from bench-scale development to high-volume manufacturing. In this hands-on role, you'll be embedded on the production floor, leading the commissioning of our LVM line, building the systems that ensure reliable operation, and driving continuous improvement to support an ambitious production ramp.

You'll own line readiness, process documentation, and quality workflows from end to end, serving as a key engineering resource for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate has successfully navigated the transition from pre-pilot to low-volume manufacturing and understands the difference between processes that work in theory and those that perform consistently in production. You bring a disciplined, data-driven approach, experience with modern manufacturing execution systems and statistical tools, and the judgment to know when to develop scalable systems and when to solve immediate production challenges. If you're motivated by building manufacturing capability from the ground up and want your work to directly impact one of the most critical thermal management challenges in next-generation AI infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing execution risks during an aggressive production ramp.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to deploy the LVM production line, including commissioning manufacturing equipment.
  • Establish robust workflows for both conforming and non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure line readiness by defining baseline operating conditions, preventive maintenance plans, SOPs, and process windows.
  • Drive continuous improvement across production management and quality management systems.
  • Proactively identify and remove production bottlenecks through process optimization.
  • Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions.

Your Skills and Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience scaling a manufacturing process from pre-pilot to low-volume manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to provide hands-on, day-to-day engineering support for an active manufacturing line.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining QA and QC systems spanning raw materials through finished products.
  • Ability to define equipment parameters and specification limits for critical-to-quality characteristics.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software, including Ignition/SCADA, Tulip/MES, and statistical analysis tools such as Minitab.
  • Strong understanding of process control principles, including control charts, capability analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience developing and executing equipment qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and the ability to apply them to reduce waste and improve cycle time.
  • Six Sigma certification and experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) are a plus.
  • Comfortable collaborating across engineering, operations, and quality teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Summary of Benefits

  • Health, Vision & Dental – Company pays 75% of Health, Vision and Dental Care coverage for employee and dependents
  • 4 weeks of supplemental Paid Parental and Family Leave
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • Holidays: 14 days/year

Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 per year
